Über diesen Titel

James thought he would be just another adventurer in the world’s most anticipated dungeon delving VRMMORPG. But when he logs in, he soon finds out that he won’t be diving the dungeon - he will be creating it. Pretty awesome right?

At least that was what he thought when he boldly chose "Random" as his dungeon type....

Then he summoned his first mob. A fearsome, bloodthirsty demonic.... Chicken.

Still, Demonic Farm Animals are the least of his worries. The person who is supposed to be teaching him the ropes is a weirdly advanced AI pixie, who drinks too much and is overly fond of gambling. Oh, and some mysterious figure seems to be watching and judging his every move - so signing that NDA is feeling like less and less of a solid choice.

Either way, James is up for the challenge. Even if it means building a dungeon around kamikaze sheep, enraged cows, unhygienic pigs, and yes...Dickens.

At least his next randomly selected mob type can’t be worse...right?

This is the revised, edited, and novelized retelling of the popular Royal Road web serial Dungeon Core Online by Glyax.

Very fun Dungeoncore litg. Can't wait for book 2. Many popculture references I liked them but good to know before.

So much fun.

I can seriously recommend books 1 and 2 of this series.
These two are great dungeon building and stories that come from it.

However, as things are now, the series kinda lost its track with the 3rd book, and went from a very competent story about dungeon building with a touch of conspiracy, to a full conspiracy story with a touch of dungeon building.

If you do enjoy conspiracy stories with a lot of adolescent fantasies, maybe the third book and the continuation on Royal Road might be for you.

But if you come for the dungeoneering, I would just stick to the first two novels and treat them as a neat, finished story.

Book 1 & 2 are great

As others have written, it is about dungeon building and a slightly distopían future.
Having read the three first books I decided to listen to them now and thus get to book four with the memory of the others fresh.
I do not regret it.
Now I am off to the next book (#2).
Surely I will enjoy it again as I did the first.

Fun and entertaining. A fresh story

The first book was fun enough. Sure, you could tell the writing wasn't very good. There was a scene of the MC reading out public information about the game, but a couple chapters later that information was announced for the first time. Just... somewhat incoherent. But it was still fun.

The second book however. Oh boy. It seemed like the author completely stopped thinking about what made sense, both in terms of his world and in terms of battle tactics, and tried to write things that sounded cool. Spoiler: It didn't work. The second book was a giant facepalm of overpowered trapcards being activated and countering them with things that made no sense whatsoever.

Save yourself the time and listen to something else instead. Travis however, as always, was a gem and a half.

I wish I hadn't started this...
