Solid fun entertainment
The books by John Conroe about the adventures of Chris Gordon are really entertaining. The story is fast paced and rich of action balanced with well developed characters and some funny situations. The hero faces some internal struggles but don't expect deep psychological insides. All in all this is a solid work but nothing exceptional in my opinion. I would say it's a typical male author/ male main character book but not in a macho kind of way.
The speaker does a good job. The different characters are easy recognisable and as a person whose first language isn't English I have no trouble following.
I heard the first four books in the series and I liked them all. There's no decline yet like in some series at which point it gets boring or ridiculous. I already bought the next one :-)
