Once a person hikes a long trail, they catch the bug, but does it get any easier the second time around? Four years after starting the Appalachian Trail with his brother, Brian takes to the Continental Divide Trail for his second thru-hike in familiar company. I would have purchased Niezsche, Kant and Hegel

if I wanted to philosophize. Which is what the author does more that 50% of the whole book. Unfortunately, he does so on the level of a 10th grader. As an avid hiker, I want to hear about the trail, not about the amateur musings of why we are here or the ill equipped attempts at high end literature like: "before I know it my quilt warmly awaits my purposeful intrusion into it´s depths".... Jeez, really??
