Good overall, with some points of contention

First of all, the story is great though a little slow.

The voice acting was good, sometimes a bit difficult to comprehend but not much else on which to critique, I like the different intonations. The story was all-around good but missing the mark in some aspects.

The first 30-40 chaps are nice and entertaining, but after that the story becomes a bit repetitive, the ending again is nice and makes me interested to read the next book.

Personally, the MC disappoints. A bit weak-willed, gets overrun easily and gets in his own head way too often. (A bit comparable with the books 4-5 of "He Who Fights with Monsters" though in that case the MC is not soft hearted). This does help with realism but impedes the nice flow of the story as no-one wants a weak-willed MC (at least not me :p). Not a Anti-hero MC, more like a Hero one.

The system and leveling progression is nice, and world building is also okay, though we haven't seen everything about it because of the slow pace of the book.

Now do keep in mind that I poured out all my grievances with the book, by no means is it bad. After this I will even buy the next one, but I will be honest saying that I skipped a few minutes on the middle chapters (50-70). :)

Overall good, sometimes not easy to listen

Overall a good story. In my opinion it is sometimes a little bit flat and not that special. The beginning of the book was very nice, but in the mid section a few chapters are just powerleveling for example. The end was kinda good again.

The speaker uses a lot of voice acting to differentiate between situations and people, which is nice. However the distorted speaking of "bugged system messages" is very hard to follow. I would say that was a bit too much voice acting for me so it wasn't easy to follow anymore. But i am not a native english speaker so maybe it is just me. Other books were more easy though.

So all in all i say roughly 4 stars, maybe 3.5 stars. It was good enough to hear it through and enjoy, but i won't go for a second book of this series.

Nice twist to the Genre

Stats and sheets are way less dominant than some seem to suggest. Aynt the best system based story around but still very enjoyable.

Loved the system

the repeated mention of Skill lvls were hard to listen to Sometimes, but it got way better in the end so i am looking Forward to the best books

Warning

Highly addictive. Im currently finished with book 5 and the series doesnt get worse in any way. So if u planning anything important the next weeks u might consider not starting.

Wasted Potential

This is a very frustrating Litrpg book. The MC and World building is great, but you cant enjoy it because the author is completely stuck in repetitive fighting scenes. The character building starts good, but then just entirely stops and we learn absolutely nothing about anybody, it is just fight after fight and all of them are completely overdetailed and dragged out. This book is like 23 hours fighting and 3 hours story, turn that ratio around and you have a great litrpg.

Way to many skills

So, i just finished the first couple hours, but its way to many skill sheets, when i read others opinions i thought it would be like one of those story where you´re spammed with a 3-5 minute skill´s sheet that you jump, but its really hard to follow the story when everything is a new skill or a level up, and because it´s a fuckload of skills they are all permanently repeated so you lose overview even more. Skillsheets should be used to ad a little to the story, this is way to much and its more like the story adds to the skill sheets... You don´t need a fucking extra skill to climb a tree, to eat some weeds, to throw a stone, to swim etc. that just makes the skills seem worthless. And if you think you level up so often you do shit you never had to really grind in an RPG...
