Über diesen Titel
When interior designer David Snyder buys a beautiful century-old house in eastern Washington, he is reeling with heartbreak and looking for somewhere to put down roots. Unfortunately his new home comes with a laundry list of problems: electrical, plumbing, heating...things David knows nothing about. When his mother offers him the business card of a local handyman, David pictures an overweight, balding man in his fifties. But Jackson Henry couldn't be further from that stereotype.
Dark-haired, muscular, and handsome, Jackson left a large construction firm in Seattle to take care of his sick mother. However, his hometown still has an active "good old boy" network, and finding employment in construction is almost impossible for an openly gay man. Determined to persevere, Jackson takes odd jobs as a handyman. He's exactly what David needs - in more ways than one.
David isn't ready for his attraction to Jackson, not considering the way his last relationship ended. But as the two men get to know each other, it becomes clear that the heart often knows best, and it rewards those willing to listen.

Review on „David, Renewed“ - Audio Book Version
Was hat Ihnen das Hörerlebnis von David, Renewed besonders unterhaltsam gemacht?
One should never buy a century-old house on impulse and skipping all the inspection tours. That's what David learns instantly with no heating, ice cold showers and no morning coffee. His new house seems to have more repair issues than sweet neighbour's dog Boots has fleas. Luckily he finds Jackson, a calm, hard working and very capable former construction worker. The more problems with electric wires, plumbing and a leaking roof, the longer Jackson is staying and working for him. Both men are slowly but irresitebly drawn to each other. Soon David's mother finds herself supporting Jackson's ill mother while Jackson tries to protect David from his cheating ex-boyfriend Trevor, who turns into a nasty stalker with rather dangerous ambitions.
Wie hat Ihnen Michael Pauley als Sprecher gefallen? Warum?
Michael Pauley does a stunning job with this narration. His deeper voice is just perfect for those tall, strong but gentle ,soft spoken guys like Jackson&Gil and at the same time his lighter voice variation for younger David&Michael is so fresh. When Mr Pauley lends his voice to the women characters of the story or the outright bonehead characters it doesn't sound forced at any time either. Amazing! Thanks to his narration this already warm, emotional story becomes even more impressive and deep, wanting you to listen to it on and on and on....
Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?
Diana Copland has a magical gift to write stories that keep pulling you into them right away. Her MC s are no superheros, just normal people like you and me. She portaits them so vividly that you feel like being right next to David, Jackson and their families and friends during the whole story.
