The majority of this book takes place in Carrie’s mind when she landed in a comatose state after an attack. Kane and Carrie are both Sensors, in the Breed World. Kane is Sunny’s sister whom we met in the Mageri series. At first I was wondering how they could be brother and sister since Sunny is human and Kane is a Sensor (and they are born, not made like mages are) but adoptions happen everywhere. I love the story and the way it fills in some gaps like the not blood related family part. Since it kept me from enjoying this story from the first word and every word that followed up to this explanation I thought it might be worthwhile to mention here for other readers. If this is considered a spoiler than I give you my sincere apologies and you can correct me for following reviews
