Über diesen Titel
That chance discovery leads Bosch to a shallow grave in the Hollywood hills, evidence of a murder committed more than 20 years earlier. It's a cold case, but it stirs up Bosch's memories of his own childhood as an orphan in the city. Digging through police reports and hospital records, tracking down street kids and runaways from the 1970s, Bosch finds a family ripped apart by an absence - and a trail, ever more tenuous, into a violent, terrifying world.
As the case takes Bosch deeper into the past, a rookie cop named Julia Brasher brings him alive in the present in a way no one has in years. Bosch has been warned about the trouble that comes with dating a rookie, but no warning could withstand the heat between them - or prepare Bosch for the explosions when the case takes a hard turn.
Drawing on the "precision-tooled twists" and "wellspring of authentically lurid detail" (Los Angeles Magazine) that have made him one of the fasted-selling novelists at work today, Michael Connelly has written a riveting, hard-edged, and unforgettable thriller.

Oh my
It's a rare occasion when I wish for a Harry Bosch novel to end. Soon. It's not the story, the story is great but the narrator makes it a chore. Which is a pity, he has a pleasant voice and clear pronunciation but no feel for the rhythm of speech or a sentence at all which results in arbitrary pauses in the middle of. ... Sentences. And though he tries to give the voices each their own touch they are very much alike. And so it's really hard to enjoy this audio book and even harder not to fall asleep. The strange pauses make my brain not want to follow him wherever he's headed and I really struggled.
I love the Bosch novels so I stuck with it and the story was once again great. I know it's not easy, narrating a book, respect for that, but after listening to the great Dick Hill for so many books now, who is simply amazing and of course the fabulous Titus Welliver, yeah. This was rough.
And then the completely useless, unnecessary awful music! I wanted an edition without that but sometimes it's g hard to tell, so I picked the wrong one it seems. Awful. What were they thinking?
