Learning experience
Listening to this audiobook was quite an experience. At first I struggled with all the new words and the somewhat longer sentences. But the short stories are narrated slower than native speech, hence perfect for beginners. In my opinion this audiobook might be difficult for an absolute beginner; so I recommend getting the PDF file to read as well.
Moreover, the stories only takes a few minutes and each one is retold multiple times with the english translation and comprehensive questions are asked at the end. You can easily focus on one story and get the most out of it.
The narrator is making an effort to tell the stories lively so that the listener doesn't lose interest.
With this audiobook I enlarge my vocabulary and build on my listening performance.

Good stories and concept, but no native-speaker
The speaker is not a native speaker and sometimes seems to pronounces tones in bisyllabic words where the tone of the second syllable is usually omitted. Apart from that I find the pronunciation and the English accent very agreeable. The story board is definitely better than in most other audio classes of this kind I have listened to. I found the stories quite entertaining and sometimes even funny.

Good concept, but horrible pronunciation
The stories and the concept would be great for learning Chinese, but: The speaker is definitely not a native speaker; the pronunciation (confirmed to me by a native speaker which grew up in mainland China) has a strong western accent which often misses the right tones. I would definitely not recommend this for learning Mandarin Chinese.
