It ended with that same army fleeing back in near total disarray - and Hooker's reputation in ruins.

At once impassioned and gracefully balanced, Chancellorsville 1863 is a grand achievement in Civil War history.

Very precisely researched account with good insights, especially how it could have failed easily for Lee, why Hooker could not handle it, and the effects of the battle on the Gettysburg campaign. Sometimes overdone in its details when listening to it.
