Gut geschrieben, sehr inspirierend. Gute Erkenntnisse und Einblicke in das Wesen einer Frau und in Beziehungen zwischen den Geschlechtern. Ein Buch über Identität und Beziehungen. Empfehlenswert!

87% a Christian sermon

They mean well, and I appreciate them putting in some effort to help us all, but I would not at all recommend Captivating.

87% is quoting bible scripture, stories prayers and interpretations of it, almost everything is turned back to Jesus, the devil, or Adam and Eve. I felt literally like I was sitting in a church sermon for almost all of the book.

I found the content disorganized and not well structured, so it often felt repetitive.

Though a non-Christian, I believe there is some wisdom in every religion and in every person's perspective, so i listened looking to understand the deep rooted wisdom hidden within Christianity and their perspective, but it was SO DIFFICULT to sit through the densely thick religious layer between that rooted wisdom and my world today to find it, and if you don't just want to hang all of your self-worth and life-responsibility on the story of Jesus and Christianity, I don't think the wisdom in this book was even close to worth sitting through most of. I'm sad to say this because his other book Wild at Heart is great and not so packed with Christianity.

About 3% talks about the inside-out pure beauty and love women are for our world. This is why I bought this book, but it was thin and not nearly deep enough in my view. There is way more to say here that guess just isn't yet clear to the authors.

10% is dedicated to helping women heal their childhood wounds, shame and other trauma (which in my opinion is very insufficient and just not what this book is designed for).

At one point they included a prayer with a part asking God to attack your enemies... so oh yeah, thanks Catholicism for 2000 years of suffering btw.

I'm sad to write this review. I wanted to like it. Despite my patience to wait through some sermon to seek out the wisdom hiding, this book felt like an assault on my patience and grace, and I sadly lost it and stopped after 75%. Though I will recommend Wild at Heart despite the sprinkles of Christianity throughout, the buckets worth that make up most of this has pushed me probably away from listening to more of his stuff.
