Über diesen Titel
Inspiration from the dating rollercoaster!
Every once in a while, a book comes along that makes you stop and consider everything.
Can I Be Honest with You? is way more than a collection of (hilariously) entertaining dating stories. It is a poignant inner ride through one woman’s sharp mind and deep heart, a mythic journey of love, authenticity, and personal empowerment.
Listeners have the opportunity to receive a very special gift: expanded clarity and excitement about living more closely to their own personal truths. This book is a fresh balm for the wounds of all people-pleasers, inspiring us to bring our biggest selves forward.

One of a kind
Full Disclosure: The author is a Facebook friend of mine. Among other occupations, she is a relationship coach and often posts her inspiring wisdom. She asked for reviews, so here I go.
The audiobook is excellently spoken. I like the reading style. Fast, fluid, lively, and, in contrast to many movies where much is slurred by mumbling, it's clear and easy to understand even for me as a non-native speaker. That's both true for Amy and the male voices.
The book is derived from her blog about her dating experience of over 100 dates in 5 years. (How does one get that many dates??? I want to know!)
It's about her own development. With constant introspection, great, even daring honesty to herself, and an evermore developing determination to be honest with her dating partners, she relates to the reader what she felt at the time and afterwards. It also includes her journey from coming across as quite judgemental in the early dates to accepting what is without judging later on. Last, but not least, it is written with sweet humour, making it fun to listen to.
Given her conditions for dating (radical honesty, non-monogamy) the book may be highly challenging to listeners with a more traditional approach. I recommend: Allow yourself to be challenged by this gem of a book.
Why only 4 stars for story? Listening through all 100 dates sometimes has an ... and then ... and then ... and then ... feeling. Some of the less important dates might have been skipped to avoid tediousness. Other than that the book is wonderful.
