Über diesen Titel
In this follow-up to the hit isekai, a villain continues to find her power—and develop her sadism—even as she's haunted by her ex-love.
Seventeen years after her rebirth into a magical medieval world, Everly Vae Balsar, the Empress, has made it. With her exceptionally potent earth magic and powers of spiritual manipulation, she stands poised to conquer a kingdom that lives in fear of her and her dangerous servants: Carter the goblin assassin, the marauding General Grail, and her elementals, the sadistic Eris and ditzy Titania. She's a villain and proud of it.
Well, she's not a fan of cannibalistic monsters. Villainy is her domain, not the presumptuous Mister Whisper's. But at the moment, Everly is experiencing something she's never felt before: genuine regret over killing someone. Specifically, her mage maybe-love Fenneth.
As she reconnects with her conniving father and impetuous sister and continues to grow her power, Everly's schemes slowly become more complex. But she's still haunted by her actions—and maybe by Fenneth as well . . .
The second volume of the hit portal fantasy series—with more than 400,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Mostly good like the first one... but ....
Halfway in.
Most of the Story was a build up for something that didn't even had 30 minutes of showtime and barely got mentioned afterwards ... till now. Just feels bad and weird for the paceing.
I really loved where it was going. With her dad.
The stuff she's gonna need to do soon.
Like school, where she could torment poor poor innocence.
War brewing and stuff with her religious take over...
But it got weird after the whole build up moment.
I'm gonna spoil that part a bit ... cause it might make ya reconsider buying.
She made clones of herself... there's now 4 of them. 3 of them neutere in power so they don't murder the original for the spot at the top. Totally don't see a problem here xD. Totally not foreshadowing stuff from the authors side... or just trying to do 4 perspectives on stuff that's happening simulatneusly soon. Cause each of them got a task. Ya go to school, ya go do the religion and ya go do adventureing, while i go black knighting and murdering.
...
Ya see the problem?
I haven't continued much after that banger of a story plot device. Will listen to the rest for sure. But i doubt i will get the next book, if the duplicate don't go over the jordan xD.

Story devolves into dumpster level writing
The first book was somewhat interesting with that psychopath main character doing her thing in another world. It wasn't a ground breaking story but something one can listen to at least once just seeing and hearing how much of a psychopath she is.
The problem is that there really isn't any progress in her character from where she left off in book 1. She's still the same. She's still a psychopath constantly just doing nasty stuff to people for the sake of doing bad things. In addition the side characters aren't interesting enough to keep the story interesting. Most of them are either stupid, weak or just as bad as Everly in terms of personality (and sometimes a mix of all three of those aspects). The number of characters is also just to big with to many of them just being disposable for the sake of killing someone off randomly or doing some other nasty stuff with them. It loses its appeal quickly.
Also about halfway through the book something was done with the main character Everly that creates a ton of problems because the story was already jumping around wildly between to many characters and now there are even more plot lines to keep track off which are not exactly exciting. A lot of it also just feels like filler where chapters just go off to some random side story that has nothing to do with the main plot and also doesn't really add anything of value to the respective characters which are involved.
In addition the writer increasingly uses current day phrases like "simping", "triggering" and "gaslighting" which just got a groan from me as soon as I heard them. It makes the story already dated. I haven't finished the second one yet (about 3/4 through) and unfortunately it gets increasingly difficult to motivate myself to even finish it.
The actress reading the book is doing a decent job just like in the first book.
