5 explosive stars... this story wrecked me
Oh Boomer, you wrecked me!
The second Ruthless King´s book is all around Boomer aka Jenkins, Reaper´s stepson, who has a passion for fire and blowing things up, which he uses as one way of releasing his penned-up anger, self-loathe and inner demons. It´s also about Scarlett, the girl who becomes his Anker. The one that believes in him and shows that behind that broken façade there is a man with his heart in the right place. In the end, they are two tortured souls who find themselves in each other, so I love the love they have.
I don’t want to give too much away as I rather the other readers/listeners experience each story for themselves I will only add that K L Savage´s way of writing makes you feel every emotion, I felt everything Boomer was feeling. This story had me in tears and hurt for most of the book. There is one scene in this book that really had me balling, you´ll know it when you get there. Boomer certainly is an explosively emotional story.
You´ll still get to read/listen to the other Ruthless Kings who are there gun´s blazing when one of there own is in trouble! I love that they are all around in each book and it does give us snippets here and there of their characters until we get to their own individual stories.
Again, Logan McAllister and Sierra Kline did an awesome job. The only small thing I would criticize though is that Boomer is a 20-year-old and Logan´s voice sounded a bit seasoned for him, apart from that the characters were well performed and you could feel the emotions through their voices.
I am already excited about the next Ruthless King member, next up is Tool.
