a universe of unlikeable and uninteresting ppl
From the protagonist, his crew to the whole population of the 2 known ppl the is not one likeable or interesting character. The protagonist is stuck up, rigid worrywart who seems unwilling to stick to his own decisions instead of the brave and brilliant rebell pirat who can unite all the ppl the description made him out to be.
Also the whole premise of the plot starts falling apart the moment more details about the whole framing job wich got the protagonist in this position in the first place come to light. It's so obvious that it's a framing job it seems to me as if the antagonist wouldn't need to overthrow the existing government later on since he already runs it at the very start of the story.
