Those are the only choices left for Clay Hopewell. Infected with the ZERO virus, he has less than 24 hours before he bites the dust. But cheating death and gaining immortality isn't that easy. If Clay survives the risky cognitive upload process, he'll still have to contend with a fantasy world teetering on the brink of crisis. Worse, a quarter of the in-game population hates his starting race, he can't unlock the mage class he wants, and a malevolent glitch threatens to upend the very existence of his new reality.

If Clay doesn't learn the rules of his new surroundings quickly, his second chance at life will be a lot worse than his first.

Story: not very original/ creative story for a LitRPG title. Dialogues also quite bland and unoriginal. No humour to give extra taste to the story.

World and magic system: nothing new here - very traditional magic system and world.

Storytelling: narrator putting emphasis/drama on too many trivial items, such as “100 xp” or “item drop alert: rat tails times one” … sorry but it’s really annoying to listen to after couple hours.

My enthusiasm for the book went down as it went. Will not continue to tome 2.

Average story, world building and storytelling

The story is good. Bit of a mix between Matrix, Outbreak and Evolution. With the MC checking basically everyones stats and a level 99 mage just having 265 Mana... It is a strange mix of stats all around.
