I do love Chris Brookmyre‘s particular brand of storytelling and this was no exception: Jane Fleming used to be an idealistic, clever, curious, blue-haired young punk in Glasgow . Fast forward a few decades and she’s a grandmother already, wondering how life has passed her by. But suddenly things change and when her son suddenly disappears she is pulled into an adventure she’s always dreamed of. Tightly paced and with great character development, I really enjoyed this!
I really enjoyed the audiobook narration, although I didn’t understand 100% everything of the Glaswegian slang.

Thrilling escapism without feeling clichéd.
