It wasn't a story about seeing once true love across the ballroom and falling madly in love for no reason. the way the main characters fell in love was realistic and completely understandable. A slow burn from enemies to lovers.
The heroine was my favorite. She had actual agency throughout the whole story. she was so clever and even cunning and I found myself impressed by her strength and courage. At no point did I need to cringe over something one of the characters did or got the plot utterly ridiculous. I was fascinated by how well kitty was able to work the people around her and hearing her thoughts on how she always deduced how to best go about this was simply fascinating.
The reader was also very good. Her voice was very pleasant to listen too.
Over all I would highly recommend any kind of Jane Austen/downton abbey fan to listen to this story it was just an absolut delight!

I do hope the author writes another lovely story.

Sowohl die Geschichte, als auch der Schreibstil und die Vorleserin haben mich inspiriert, für dieses Hörbuch eine Rezension zu schreiben, obwohl ich das sonst nicht tue.
Die Geschichte ist witzig - vom Schmunzeln über Kichern bis laut Lachen.
Die Leserin hat nicht nur verschiedene Stimmen für die unterschiedlichen Personen verwendet, sie hat auch noch die unterschiedlichen Charaktere und deren Persönlichkeit reingepackt, sodass man sich die beteiligten Personen lebhaft vorstellen kann - toll!
Ich bin hoch erfreut, dass es zwischen all den Romantik-Regency-Büchern noch diesen Schatz gibt, der ganz ohne Sexszenen auskommt und höchst amüsant und kurzweilig ist.
