I don’t understand reviews of a book like this that are saying there is no story! There is a lot of story and personal struggle with the own sexuality. With being afraid what the world might think…and yes it’s also extremely hot! So what?! That’s the cherry on top with an amazing narration!

Very well written but once you cut out the smit there‘s not much story left. I feel like the story could have been so much more elaborate.

👉🏻 Oh, dear. 😄 I know this story was supposed to be a little spicy 🔥 but honestly, I found myself laughing a lot. 🤣 Some of the inner monologues and quotes made me SCREAM.

💡 The storyline is quite ordinary and nothing new. One MC, Diana, is a successful lawyer, married and in her 40s. The other MC is Laurie, a 25-year-old student who applies for a PA position at Diana's law firm. There is an attraction from both sides that leads them into a spiral of "bad choices". Because of their positions and the age difference, there is of course a power play between the two, but it worked for me. Probably because both characters are very likeable.

Nonetheless, the story fell a bit short towards the end. It felt rushed and I would have liked to know more details to be honest. Especially when the "angst" part came. The problem was solved within a chapter or so. And yes, I know this isn't a book with a deeper meaning, but I like to complain. 😂

Also, I'd like to add that some of the inner monologues made me SQUEALING 🤣 For example, whenever Diana thought "How dare she!" (about Laurie) which she did quite a few times, I laughed because I could just picture her standing there, hands on her hips and thinking: "How dare she!" 💀

♥️ As you can read, it was quite entertaining for me 🙈. Also, don't forget that this book has some explicit scenes, like REALLY and they are not repetitive at all. To be fair, they do make up for the rushed ending 😉 .

Overall the book is well written! However, if you are looking for deep characters and a good story, this is not your book. I felt like someone wrote fan fiction about the sex scenes that never happend between well developed characters in an existing complex plot. Without that plot, the story falls really flat. Sure, there might be age and power gaps between people but does it have to be so cliché? There is no real story between the two main characters at all - at least not until three hours into the audio book.

The book is entertaining enough to have a go! However, if your 1st encounter with Roslyn Sinclair were the excellent two books of the Carlisle Series then this is a shorter version of "untouchable Boss ice lady" falling for her "young Assistant". The story develops ok, but it is a bit of a rush towards the end and I fear it is predictable. Nonetheless the book is good company for the 11 hours .....
