Review on „The Cowboy Poet – Audio Book Version“
Was hat Ihnen am allerbesten an The Cowboy Poet gefallen?
Another of my favourite Claire Thompson novels ever since it had been published in 2010. And clearly another audio book production that mightily benefits from Josh Walker's great voice talent!The mix of M/M, bondage and cowboys still captures my imagination; and I am still a bit sad that there isn't any poem line throughout the whole novel.
Welcher Moment von The Cowboy Poet ist Ihnen besonders im Gedächtnis geblieben?
Tyler is on the run from secret lust and shame,trying to cover his insecurities by journalistic activities. When he writes about a Texas festival for his magazine,he meets Clint, the famous Cowboy Poet.Ty is instantly drawn to the older man, who has an irresistible calm but powerful appearance. Clint also hones in immediatly on the younger man's submissive tendencies. Still I think, he took quite a big risk on their first night together. Clint is thrilled when Ty joins him on his informal investigations across the local ranches. In this short time they are getting to know and treasure each other fast and intensive.Ty tries to run again, but Clint fights for him and their relationship willing to sacrifice a lot.
The final chapters are still my favourites when Ty has to return to his family ranch coming out to his parents and sister and facing his jerk ex-lover. But Clint stays at his side no matter what.

The precarious balance between abuse& humiliation and consencious trust with sexual painpleasure has captivated me in the book already. Now, thanks to Josh Walker giving Tyler and Clint voices, the whole story becomes even more forceful and vibrant.
I absolutely love how Clint, with his soft cowboy drawl and gentle but firm dominance, is being portrayed by Mr.Walker, really impressive!

The story is simple but the two MC s are described with amazing depth and vitality that you like them right away and eagerly follow them on their journey. Submission takes a lot of courage and it is hard to find a partner who won't abuse this special gift.
