A weekly newspaper dedicated to the weird and the wonderful (but mostly the weird), it is the go-to publication for the unexplained and inexplicable.
At least that's their pitch. The reality is rather less auspicious. Their editor is a drunken, foul-tempered and foul-mouthed husk of a man who thinks little of the publication he edits. His staff are a ragtag group of misfits. And as for the assistant editor . . . well, that job is a revolving door - and it has just revolved to reveal Hannah Willis, who's got problems of her own.
When tragedy strikes in her first week on the job The Stranger Times is forced to do some serious investigating. What they discover leads to a shocking realisation: some of the stories they'd previously dismissed as nonsense are in fact terrifyingly real. Soon they come face-to-face with darker forces than they could ever have imagined.
The Stranger Times is the first novel from C.K. McDonnell, the pen name of Caimh McDonnell. It combines his distinctive dark wit with his love of the weird and wonderful to deliver a joyous celebration of how truth really can be stranger than fiction.

Anfang schwierig aber wer dranbleiben wird belohnt
Am Anfang öfters abgebrochen weil etwas unzusammenhängend aber mit ein bisschen Geduld wird die Geschichte richtig gut

Love it!
Got it in both english and german and love both versions - McDonnell (aka the three chipmunks) and McDonald have both done an amazing job!

What fantastic fantasy
I am not usually into fantasy but this Audio book was funny and full of suspense. Great work, simply loved it.

Funny
Great dialogues, funny characters and lovely details. A lot of humour and wonderfully bizarre moments. The overall narrative is less original and without larger surprises.

Interesting quirky charcters, entertaining story
The story development was a bit too slow and the end came too soon but it was entertaining and I am hooked for more !
The main character remains a bit dull but there are others who are surprising and fun.
The narrator does a great job, especially on the somehow funny parts
I really like this quirky urban setting and in contrasts nicely with the hidden magical aspects

Fantastic Entertainment

Absolutely hilarious
I love all of Caimh‘s books and can’t wait for new ones. Thanks for lighten the darkest days with this wonderful story telling especially by the grandiose narrators. 🥰

Terry would be ever so proud

Great book, marvelous read
Brendan McDonad is a genius. The story was great and his interpretation of the different characters made it even greater. He gave every person a different voice and accent. As a non-native speaker I can't tell how accurate those were, it was fun listening however. I absolutely loved it. It's the first time I actually thought listening was better than reading! An absolute must listen to!!
