Wonderful and heartwretching
Such a wonderful authentic story. Very human and so beautifully written. I’m not a fan of insta love usually but this romance keeps the balance of instant attraction and slow burn. Manages to be thoughtful and deep while sometimes funny and light

Good theme, engaging story.
I found the theme of how mixed race Indians were viewed in Victorian London very interesting and the story most enjoyable. The only fly in the ointment was the occasional mispronounced word. For example, a gas light is not a gahs light! Not every “a” is pronounced “ah” in British English. This grated on the ear which is a shame, considering that Lydia Hanman’s pronunciation is otherwise faultless. I can recommend this book all the same though, going straight on to book 2!

Perfekte Sprecher
Das Buch ist wundervoll erzählt, mit 2 britischen Sprechern (weiblich und männlich) sehr gut gelungen, um die „Bridgerton“ Atmosphäre in einem Hörbuch zu erhalten. Einfach nur herrlich!
