Persephone is the Goddess of Spring by title only. The truth is, since she was a little girl, flowers have shriveled at her touch. After moving to New Athens, she hopes to lead an unassuming life disguised as a mortal journalist.
Hades, God of the Dead, has built a gambling empire in the mortal world and his favorite bets are rumored to be impossible.
After a chance encounter with Hades, Persephone finds herself in a contract with the God of the Dead and the terms are impossible: Persephone must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever.
The bet does more than expose Persephone's failure as a goddess, however. As she struggles to sow the seeds of her freedom, love for the God of the Dead grows - and it's forbidden.

Know what you're reading.
Smashing Narator! Other then that : This book was quite dissapointing. The FMC is annoying with little to no depth. If it wasn't for the spice I'ld have called it a YA Book. So, if you like these kind of books, by all means give it a go ... I might try the POV from Hades for the next one but I might also give up on the series entirely... the judges are still out.

amazing
the narrator is doing an amazing job. the story is very well written, has an awesome character development and steamy scenes ;-)

Could have been way more
For me it could have been shortened by 5 hours and would still be slow burn and not missing any vital parts of the story. I liked how Persephone was a little bratty towards Hades but it could and should have been faster pased imo. Great narrator, thank god.

Great form of escapism for Persephone-Hades fans
I couldn’t really get into it at first but am happy I kept listening. This is the first book by St. Clair that I have read, and I am looking forward to listening to the rest of the series and her other works. This is a great form of escapism I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a Persephone-Hades story/dynamic with a modern twist. The narrator did a brilliant job. I hope to hear her reading more books soon.

Loved it
Love her story and his interpretation! I never knew about about the goddess of spring but her character is so interesting.

plot<sex
well it's easy, if youre not looking for plot, slow burning romance or adventure its a great book.
Personally I think its a nice and hot spicy read/listen. But we're not given paticulary many reasons why Persephone is so into Hades except for his good looks. It all happens quite fast... in the end the story gets a bit more interesting. Just know what you're in for and you won't be disapointed since the Audio is phenomenal.
I'm not going to listen to the next one however since it is a very boring and flat story.

Extra great narration
The narration is super good. Voices sound unique and Meg Sylvan doesn't shy away to raise her voice and our her emotions into it when breathing live into the lines.

Eine schöne Fassung..
Von der Geschichte von Hades und Persephone.
Ich fand die Story gut erzählt und die Sexszenen sind spicy. Nicht überzogen, man konnte der Charakter-Entwicklung gut folgen. 👌🏻 Erster Band: Sehr gut!

Love it!
I saw it at a library and 'cause i'm a huge greek mythology fan i wanted to read it. But at the end I decided to listen too it. I really like it. (Let's just ignore the fact that I listen to the Story from Hades POV. at the same time). I'm more like an Artemis, Poseidon, Athena and Aphrodite fan, so this is something new. I'm gonna listen also to the rest.
